From the introduction of satellite TV in the
market, growth in satellite TV service boomed. However, with the
immense launching and operating cost of satellites, as expected,
the number of satellite television providers is limited.
Currently in the United States, only three providers exist: Dish
Network, DIRECTV and VOOM.
Great channel selection, unbeatable value, little
or no start-up cost and the cable company liberty are a few of
the benefits that a satellite television gives to a huge
percentage of television viewers. Dish
network, DIRECTV and VOOM are currently providing satellite TV
service using their own task force of satellites. These
satellites never change their position relative to the ground
since they are approximately positioned 22,000 miles above the
Earth in geosynchronous orbit. For you to receive signals from
the few satellites that these television providers have, you
need satellite dish, receiver and a remote control. However, all
these equipment may be given to you only if you subscribe to
their service.
DIRECTV is
America’s largest satellite TV service provider with over 12
million customers. This provider is available in all 50 states
and claims to offer “the most channels for your dollar”. They
feature exclusive sports packages such as the NFL Sunday Ticket
and Mega March Madness which are the programs that are not
available from other service providers. Major US cities and
surrounding areas get the local channels, hence, more customers
are given more than half of the access to local programming
through their satellite.
Satellite
TV service in no time may be the most trusted approach in
getting the programming you want. With cable price going
unexpectedly up yet their channel selection are going down, more
and more will turn to this innovative service. Despite the great
distance that a signal must travel before it reaches the TV set,
satellite TV still delivers a 100% digital audio and video with
crystal clear signal, and equal to any digital cable service.
